I didn’t always know I was an empath.
I just knew that I felt everything — deeply, intensely.
I picked up on moods the moment I entered a room.
I carried other people’s emotions long after conversations ended.
I assumed everyone experienced the world this way
— that everyone scanned rooms, absorbed energy, and needed time alone to recover after ordinary interactions with others.
When I realised most people don’t, I began to think something was wrong with me.
I wasn’t only struggling much of the time — I was also different.
You can imagine what that did to my sense of self-worth.
The hardest part was that I didn’t even have language for what I was experiencing.
Everything just felt like too much — and I resonated with the label “too sensitive.”
I was often overwhelmed and deeply exhausted after being around people — even people I enjoyed being with.
I could enjoy conversations, feel genuinely connected, and still need hours (or days) of quiet to recover.
That still happens at times, especially when I don’t listen closely enough to my energy.
It took many years — and a lot of unlearning — to realise that my sensitivity wasn’t a flaw to fix, but a language to understand.
Empath Sanctuary exists because I know how confusing, isolating, and overwhelming it can feel when you don’t yet have the words for your inner experience.
When you sense more, feel more, and are affected more deeply by people and environments — but are repeatedly told you’re overthinking, overreacting, or imagining it — it can leave you doubting yourself.
Here, I share what I’ve learned through lived experience, reflection, and practice — along with tools and ways of understanding that help me live meaningfully as an empath in a world that doesn’t always understand sensitivity.
I share it humbly, in the hope that what I’ve learned may help you too.
This space was created for people who feel deeply but don’t always feel understood.
For those who:
Empath Sanctuary is not about becoming “less sensitive.”
It’s about learning how to live well with your sensitivity — without burning out, shutting down, or losing yourself along the way.
My work with empaths includes grounded practices such as visualisation, meditation and other practical tools, alongside shamanic practice for those who choose that path.
This site begins with clarity and explanation, then offers further experiential and spiritual support for those who seek it.
I don’t believe in pushing, forcing, or “powering through.”
Empath nervous systems don’t respond well to pressure-based healing or one-size-fits-all advice.
What we often need instead is safety, pacing, compassion, and language that honours our lived experience.
My approach is:
I won’t tell you who you are.
I’ll help you recognise yourself.
One of the most painful beliefs many
empaths internalise is that we need to toughen up —
that if we could just “handle more,” we’d finally be okay.
But sensitivity is not weakness.
It’s how deeply you feel, notice, and respond to the world around you.
The work here isn’t about changing who you are.
It’s about creating a life that supports who you already are.
I still live this work every day — noticing when my energy shifts, using what I’ve learned to protect myself from overwhelm, and recovering when I need to.

You don’t need to be certain of anything. You don’t need to define yourself yet. |
If something inside you whispered, “This feels familiar,” that’s enough.
